Cubs Behaviour Policy
Adults on Cub Scout activities are there to ensure that all children taking part have a safe and enjoyable time. This is particularly important to remember when your own child is taking part in the event, as you must be seen to treat all Cubs equally. As a rule of thumb, do not do anything with or for your own child that you would not do for another child.
An essential part of the Cub Scout programme is teaching the Cubs to look after themselves. To this end, especially on camps, Cubs will often be asked to undertake a range of chores. It is important that Cubs are encouraged to do these tasks by themselves, whilst being watched over by an adult - don.t be tempted to do the job yourself just to get it done faster!
To ensure that all Cubs are treated fairly and equally, we ask that when a child has their parent with them on an activity, they are not dealt with directly by their parent in terms of discipline, as it can often be tempting to treat your own child differently to you would treat another child in such circumstances.
