The Cub Pack takes boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 10½, and meets at the scout hut every Friday night, from 7 until 8:30pm. If you would like to help out, or for your child to join us, then please fill out out Information Request form.

Each month a "Six of the Month" certificate is awarded to the Six with the most points from inspections, games and bonus points. At the end of each term, a prize is awarded to the Six with the most overall points.

Uniform...

Cub Scouts are part of a uniformed organisation, and as such are expected to wear a uniform to Pack meetings and activities. At 1st Farndon, we expect each Cub to have a full uniform of Cub sweatshirt (where to put the badges), polo shirt and activitiy trousers, along with the purple Group necker.

Thankyou to everyone who supported the bingo evening at the Sports and Social Club on the 10th of December, helping to raise much needed funds for the Group. A special thanks to the parents who donated the prizes for the evening, and to the callers for doing a fantastic job on the night.

Our Halloween Pack Holiday took place from the 28th to the 30th of October in Manchester. Fourteen of our Cubs, along with four Cubs from Lambeth took part in the camp. [view...]

Six Cubs went to the County Cub Fun Day on Sunday 10th of July, at Forest Camp, getting the chance to take part in yet more activities including ice skating and a tunnel complex, as well as the usual air rifles, bell boating and assault courses.

The first to the third of July saw the Cubs and Scouts taking part in the District camp, with a European Theme. 1st Farnddn were given the theme of Greece for their site. The Cubs and Scouts had the opportuntity to visit all of the other sites, with each Group putting on an actiivty base, as well as taking part in the main onsite activities, such as air rifles, archery, climbing, bell boating and show in a day.

The second weekend of half term week saw the Cubs once again camping at Coxwood overnight. This was a special occasion for the Pack, as it included the investiture of two new Cubs, including the first girl to join our Pack. The overnight camp was followed by two of our older Cubs staying on for another night, catering for themselves, in order to earn their Silver Cheif Scout's Award. [view...]

One of our Cubs took part in the chess competition organised by 1st Upton on Saturday 5th February. Despite not having played much chess recently, he did extremely well and came in second place.

The annual craft competition took place on Saturday 29th January, this year at the 18th Chester HQ. With a theme of Holland for the three craft activities, our team did well to come in second place, having made a windmill with working sails, designed a pancake each, and decorated their own "cloggle". Congratulations to the 1st Tarporley Portal Pack, who came first again this year.

Friday 28th of January saw a visitor coming to our Pack. Richard, the uncle of one of our Cubs, has recently come back to the UK after cycling around the world, and offered to talk to the Cubs about his experiences.

Our term started with a friendly football match against 48th Chester, where despite playing well, our Cubs lost 10-0.

Saturday the 6th of October saw six of our Cubs helping to run a coffee morning in the village to raise funds for Children in Need. Also at the coffee morning the Cubs were treated to some tales about the Royal Marines from a WWII veteran.

In October, a record number of our Cubs will be attended the District Awards evening, to receive their Adventure Crest Awards. This year 12 Cubs from Farndon have acheived this award. [view...]

For an end of term treat, and thanks to a little help from Buena Vista International (UK) and LaserQuest, we took the Cubs to see a preview showing of Spy Kids on Sunday the 8th of April.

One of our Cubs took part in a sponsored swim for Save The Family, and earned his swimmer 1 badge in the process.
